Finding my media . . .
I've always been big with the whole art thing. Noticing things was what I did. That's how I got my inspiration. I also liked to experiment with different types of media. When I was little, it was crayons. Then I grew out of them and turned to colored pencils. Then, somewhere in junior high, I stopped using color at all. I had finally found my type of art; sketching.
I'm really good with pencils. I know a lot of techniques (and I mean a lot). I always left everyone in awe with my work, no lie. I even surprised myself. I still kept experimenting with other kinds of media, but I always kept my pencils. But, somewhere between seventh and eighth grade, I got into doing my nails. Discovering the art of nails . . .
I've always been doing my nails, but only solid colors. I never dreamed that art could be so small as to fitting on my own nail beds! But, here I am.

At first, making the designs actually look good on my nails was a challenge. It'd take me the entire day just to come with a design let a lone be able to minimize it 50 billion times just so it can fit on my nails. But months passed, and then a year. I became more experienced. The fact that I was able to wear my art was amazing! I loved it.
Every time I did my nails, the girls would be all like, 'OMG, who did your nails!?' The compliments brought me satisfaction, a sense of pride in what I did. I liked it. It was kind of like my motivation. It kept me inspired. It helped me become better at it, too. So I figured, why not show off a bit more? So that's when the idea of making a website starting coming into the picture. |
The perfect name . . .
I began looking into nail blogs for more ideas and inspiration. I wanted to do so much, I just didn't know how. It seemed like all the good names for nails had been taken. I just didn't know! But then it hit me.
Naileontology. It seemed perfect, but still too plain. It took me a while to figure out what was missing, but I finally figured it out; a heart. It was missing a heart! But I didn't know where to put it. I thought up many, many ways to spell naileontology. Like; Naileontology<3, Naileontology♥, ♥Naileonology, Nail.Eontology. Then I put the heart in the middle, separating the word nail from eontology and it seemed perfect. So that's how this site came to be Nail♥Eontology. The finishing touch . . .
It was still missing something though, and that was you! That's why I created the ideas page. I made the page especially for you guys to submit your own ideas so I can try them out and put them up on the site with full tutorials (P.S. I'll even give you full credit for the idea! Sounds like a deal?).
